Getting a boat:

No doubt about it, you will need a boat. This page shows how:

New Boats:

Unlike many other boats of this size, new boats are surprisingly affordable (2000 models list at about $6900, including sails and everything you need), and they last a long time. For exact pricing check with the local distributor: Steve Schreiner at German Brothers Marina – (585) 394-4000. If you want to look at the color choices (2007 has two – the a royal blue with grey deck and also a bright “citron” yellow with the same gray deck, see the Laser Performance web site. The boats at CYC are mostly the 2006 blue – check them out, they look great!

There are a few ways to reduce the price, for those who are opportunistic (and patient) – quantity discounts on shipping, etc. are available most of the time – talk to Steve. And at the end of each year Vanguard offers some “end of year” promotions – exactly what changes each year.

Also, from time to time (typically at the end of a year) Vanguard has “event boats” and "overstock boats" for sale – these are boats that Vanguard supplied new to some major event (usually invitational) – the boats are sailed for several days, and then sold at a discount. These boats are in great shape (Vanguard repairs the rare places of damage) – indeed our fleet is built on event boats. Again, see Steve for details.

There are also used boats out there too - with good deals to be had.

Used Boats:

There is a pretty active used boat market in V15s, although most boats are located in the Connecticut area, Annapolis area, or Chicago. Here are a few links to try:
